MINUTES OF THE SACRED HEART PARISH COUNCIL MIEETING HELD on
MONDAY 3RD NOVEMBER 2009
Those present - as per attendance record'
l. Father Duncan opened the meeting with a prayer.

4. Matters arising from minutes'
Re:6. The microphone for Mothers and toddlers has been organised' Patsy
Conquer thanked Father Duncan tbrFOR his help'
Re:6 It was commented that the choir and folk group were excellent at Father's
Induction Mass' The Bishop was very pleased'
5 New Parishioners Afternoon
This will take place on Sunday 22nd November from 4 - 6 pm' New parishioners
of 2 years will be invited. As many groups as possible will be represented and
Will be able to set up from 3pm.Parish leaflets be available. Father Duncan
will speak as people gather and the UCM will provide teas / coffees.
6. Update from Groups
Confirmation will be later next year - 3rd July 2010 catechists will be meeting
Again on 24th November.
CT Want to know if our parish wish to be involved with the Hillingdon Food
Bank. following discussion it was decided to have a box in church foyer for next
few weeks. Mothers and Toddlers will also have a collection box and Martin
cook stated that he was proposing that the Knights Provincial council make it
their project. Catherine Wloch will put a notice in the newsletter
Ron Burchell has received comment from parishioners asking if Eucharistic
Ministers are issued with a dresscode.The answer was yes but sometimes a
minister stands in for someone
Also - was there any feedback regarding the name of the person requesting a Mass
to be put on the newsletter. It was decided not to add this.
Michael Clark asked if more space could be made available on the newsletter by
using A5 and folding it, after discussion it was decided to leave it as it is.'
cAFoD had a successful Fast Day collection which, including Gift Aid, raised
£3,000. There are several CAFOD events coming up - details will be put on the
notice board.'
Knights of St Columba will be responsible for Hesdin Hall Christmas
decorations. A presentation Dinner and Dance will take place on 14th November and
a quiz is Planned for the New Year'
7. Mothers and Toddlers.(Thursday) remain busy and still require more helpers.
Guides/ Brownies will be taking part in the Remembrance Day parade this
Sunday.
UCM will be involved in providing refreshments following the Bereavement
Mass as well as the Christmas Bazaar and Christmas concert.
Father Duncan and Father are being invited to a meal.
Sandra Fialho asked Father Duncan if there were any plans for a parish
Pilgrimage in 2010? Father Duncan replied that the parish would be joining the
Westminster Diocese pilgrimage to Lourdes from 24th-31st July. More
information will be given when Father receives it.
Finance. Not everyone is using Gift Aid despite notice in the newsletter.
Father Duncan: The parish will be this months charity at Waitrose.
The Carol concert on 13th December will probably follow the same format.
Any Other Business.
l. Michael Clark referred to a series of talks at vaughan House commencing
Wednesday 4th November and also that the Catholic Union will be holding a
drinks reception preceded by Mass at the London oratory on 19th November

2. we are asked for prayers and support foe Robert Higgins who is very ill. Fund
raising for £3,000 is taking place. Information is on the notice board.
