Employer’s Proposal for the Industry-based Training of the Undergraduate Degree Programmes
(to be completed by the Employer)
General notes and information
1) The training modules listed in the following pages cover a wide spectrum of training opportunities
provided by industry. It is intended to assist the sponsoring company in formulating a training
programme which would cater for student training needs, and incorporating the training programme as
an integral part of the normal company activities.
2) The training should cover one or more of the major headings 1 to 4 under “Training Modules” (in the
following pages). An individual company is not expected to cover all the items listed in it. Companies
should feel free and indeed be encouraged to include additional items of training which will reflect their
special area of expertise.
3) The sponsoring company may tick the boxes against the items which they would like to provide and
specify the duration. The total duration of the IBT is 12 months (inclusive of leaves and holidays) for
the BEng in EIE, BSc in IMT and BSc in INS programmes, and 8 months for the BEng in ENC
programme (inclusive of leaves and holidays).
4) Please return this form to the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Kowloon, at your earliest convenience. A representative from the
Department will contact your company to further discuss with you, and when necessary, use these
indicated training blocks as the basis to jointly structure a training programme for the student(s).
5) Please use separate forms for different training programmes offered. Feel free to make photocopies of
this form whenever necessary.
