III. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Discrete and continuum variational equilibrium
equations, discrete and continuum design sensitivity analysis for static, eigenvalue,
acoustic, and thermo-elasticity problems, design sensitivity analysis of structural
dynamics, differentiability theory, shape design sensitivity analysis, configuration
design sensitivity analysis, design sensitivity of nonlinear structural systems.
Prerequisites: 58:213, 58:150, and 58:115.
