In The Interest Of Our Children, And To Uphold Our SREC Vision, We RELY On Each
Family’s Commitment Of Participation. The Terms Of Our Charter Require Each
Family To Agree To The Following Participation Commitments:
(1) PROVIDE PROOF OF NEGATIVE TB TEST: ALL SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO
HAVE AN UPDATED TB TEST ON FILE IN THE CHARTER SCHOOL AND/OR PRESCHOOL OFFICES.
(2) Learn And Use Positive Discipline While On Campus
(3) Participate In The Classroom
(A) Preschool: Mandatory 4 Hrs Per Week Plus A Class Support Job.
(B) K-5: Our Academic Programs Require Parent Assistance In The Classroom.
Kindergarten: 4 Hours Per Week Per Family
1 st Through 5 th : 2 Hours Per Week Per Family
(C) Grades 6 - 8: The Equivalent Of 2 Hours Per Week Spent Supporting The Needs Of
The Classroom And/Or Participating Through Community Support Jobs.
Youngest Child.
(D) Families With More Than One Child In The Program Are Asked To:
(1) Prioritize Their Classroom Participation To Meet The Needs Of Their
Youngest Child
(2) Meet The Annual Minimum Participation Requirements Of Their
(E) As Members Of A Cooperative Community, Parents Are Asked To Consult With
Their Respective Teachers As They Plan To Meet The Needs Of Their Child And The
Classroom. `
(4) Fulfill Community Support Jobs – After Classroom Needs Have Been Met, The Balance Of
Participation Can Be Fulfilled Through Participation In Community Support Jobs For An
Equivalent Amount Of Hours Equal To, Or In Addition To, Classroom Hours.
(5) Agree To Record And Total Your Participation Hours On A Monthly Basis To Allow For
Up-To-Date Accounting and Review.
Required Total Minimum Participation Hours Per Family Per School Year
(A) Preschool & Kindergarten Minimum 128 Recorded Hrs Per School Year
(B) 1 st - 8th Grade Minimum 64 Recorded Hrs Per School Year.
(6) Attend Scheduled Monday Night Meetings
(7) Support SREC Fundraising
I have read and understand the participation commitments of enrolling my child(ren) in the SREC. I am aware that the Directors of each program of the SREC will arrange to meet with me to arrive at a resolution, should I fall behind in my commitments.
Families that wish to commit to the responsibilities of membership acknowledge that they have done so willingly, aware that enrollment in other public schools and/or preschool programs is available to their child(ren).
