Substance Misuse Services: CARAT service and drug programmes have merged together
and fall under the Substance recovery Service.
The psychosocial side will be assesing, referring to drugs programmes,1:1's, keywork
sessions, throughcare needs etc. We will also be running 3 fortnightly groups called Living
Safely. 2 of these groups will be for non abstinent clients and 1 of the groups will be for
abstinent clients. Lower level interventions, more harm min based.
The programmes that will be delivered are ADTP(Alcohol Dependency Treatment
Programme) and Bridge programme. These are abstinent based programmes lasting for 6
weeks, which outlines the journey to recovery and to longer term treatment. These
programmes are rooted from the 12 Steps model.
The new contract also consists of peer supporters, family worker, etc.
Mental Health Care
South west London and St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust provide Inpatient acute mental
health and mental health In Reach Services.
Service offered:
The Addison Unit is a mental health inpatient facility. It provides care to adult males who are
suffering from an acute episode of mental health illness and/or dual diagnosis who are
currently being detained in Wandsworth Prison

nurses from Care UK and psychiatrists supplied from SlaM. Service Users are
managed using CPA's. Referrals are made from Thameside to Secure Units if
required.

and supplied by care Uk nurses.

beds when full. Out Reach mental health support for those with mental health symptoms such
as psychosis and severe depression. The establishment does not currently offer Primary Care
mental Health. A counselling service is available. The counsellors and our occupational
therapist offer cognitive behaviour therapy,

diazepam de-tox, group work with the Officers, There is a registered Substance Misuse
