Position:
Intensive Supervision Juvenile Caseworker II (part time)
Date Posted:
May 15, 2015 to May 29, 2015
Location:
King William County, VA
Description:
The Community Connection Program provides alternative services for juveniles before the court
and Court Service Unit. The services are funded through the Virginia Juvenile Community Crime
Control Act (VJCCCA) and the five localities we serve (King William, King & Queen, New Kent,
Middlesex and Charles City). The services provide an alternative to removing a juvenile from
the home thereby providing a forum for supervision while the juvenile awaits his impending
court date or supervision while education, counseling or other juvenile related services are
provided within the community. The use of community based programs provide an avenue for
juveniles to learn appropriate pro-social skills, continue their education, learn skills that allow
them to become productive citizens and provide opportunities for them to give back to their
communities.
The Juvenile Caseworker II will have the opportunity to gain first -hand knowledge in case
management and group facilitation. The department will have the opportunity to introduce the
Juvenile Casework II to experience juvenile probation work with the juvenile courts and the
court service unit.
