Research
Development of methods for the interpretation of seismic data: Inversion of complete shallow seismic
wavefields. Application of shallow seismic wavefield inversion to marine datasets and seismic
mircozonation. Quantitative modelling of observed seismic waveforms in strongly dissipating media.
Surface wave tomography in shallow seismic applications. Inversion of regional Love waves for the
structure beneath Bucharest city. Quantitative interpretation of seismic background noise. Quantitative
interpretation of long period seismic tilt.
Improvement of broad-band seismic recordings: Reducing magnetic field induced noise in recordings
from leaf-spring seismometers. Improvement of installation procedures for broad-band seismic
sensors. Evaluation of long period recording equipment and design of observatory quality analog
signal filters and amplifiers.
