“The Moral Injury of War”

“Moral injury,” a relatively new diagnostic term employed by the Veterans Administration, recognizes that among the effects of war on military personnel are emotional traumas over serious transgressions of moral, spiritual, or religious beliefs. Acknowledging the reality of “moral injury” provides common language for people of faith to collaborate with the medical profession in caring for the needs of returning veterans. This program will provide education and information about the nature of moral injury and how to support and minister to the service members who suffer from it.

2. Deborah Bromily, nationally certified , experienced trainer, and Raleigh resident:

“The Alternatives to Violence Project”

http://avpusa.org/ conflict is part of daily life…but violence doesn’t have to be …..

AVP workshops enable people to lead more fulfilling peaceful lives through attitude change and personal transformation with enhanced self awareness and effective interpersonal communication skills. AVP is offered in community, educational, and prison settings in the US. Internationally, AVP has been offered to heal trauma from war, genocidal and natural disasters.
