PTA Meeting 3rd March, 2015
Present:

Minutes:
Gala - Date confirmed as 30th May 12:30. Rachel updated the group regarding many
contacts already made by her & Heather Suttie regarding organisation of the event
in Laura’s absence. So far the boats are organised, but still waiting back for answers
re. policing, road closures, piper, first aid, staging, kilt hire. Rachel organising
invitation list, school Let, procession plan, taxi company, photographer, Sea Cadets
etc. etc. Sue Edwards to be contacted by Rachel again if we need any further info.
Community Council not as involved this year/contacting arrangements slightly
different. All agreed that Dee would make good crowning celeb but Rachel said that
Laura probably already had someone in place. Samba School can play at event,
same cost circa £250 as last year, unfortunately did not get £eith decides funding so
does not cover for Victoria pupil workshops. Ms Cowley/learning assts. are going to
go through P1 outfits, checking against no.s required. PTA offered to help with this
but reluctant to help if further sewing required due to Trinity fiasco losing several
outfits previously. Rachel to check with Piers if they were re-imbursed as Julie
confirmed money did not go to PTA account. Rachel to send out letter to P1 parents
asking for sewing help once no.s known. Mike offered to do posters again, if Bob
can print. More designs will be organised for T-Shirts, can Bob do these again? Can
we check also what further school merchandise Bob may have left from last year.
Julie - re-ask re. tables, mistake made, asked for 23rd.
Stalls - Raffle - all to ask re. prizes, Carol-Anne will ask Groupon. OK to pay for tickets
if not enough donated, check with Sue W. next meeting. Will do usual tombola,
Books/DVDs, hot dogs, home baking etc. Discussion re. bouncy castle & coconut shy,
Tanya will check on insurance* Lesley to check re. inflatables used at Broughton &
Annette also has contact that may do for less £.
£eith Decides - Rachel will ask Gus to come in shortly to finalise plans for sensory
area @ top area to spend £eith decides £1000.
Recycling / Bags to School - Julie still to organise collections this year.
Charitable Status - Constitution re-worded by Parent Council has been agreed,
meeting arranged for 18th March to take this forward.
Accounts - Julie circulated copy of latest accounts. Current balance is £7474.09.
Requests for Funds - No funds requested, may need pay for raffle prizes.
Next Meeting - Tuesday 7th April 2015 @ 18.30
*subsequently done, should be OK to go ahead, still need check logistics.
