CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder will be the purchaser and no bidding can be retracted after the
hammer has fallen. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any bidding and in the
event of any dispute the Lot may be put up again at the Auctioneer’s discretion.
2. Lots are for sale, subject to any reserve price imposed by the Vendor.
3. The description of the Lots is believed to be correct, however, the approximate
weights or measurements are given for guidance only and prospective Purchasers will
be deemed to have inspected the Lots for which they bid and no warranty whatsoever
is given regarding weight, quality, condition or quantity.
4. The terms of sale are cash or cheque and goods must be paid for at the end of the sale.
Purchasers unknown to the Auctioneers are requested to bring a Bankers Draft or pay
cash. The Auctioneers will then hold funds as Stakeholders until paying out the
Vendors. Any Lots paid for by cheque must not be removed until the cheque has
cleared except with the express permission of the Auctioneers.
5. All Lots must be removed as stated in the catalogue, and if not so removed by the said
date, the Purchaser shall pay the Vendor a penalty of £10 per week for each week or
part thereof until final clearance or forfeit the balance of the Lot at the Vendors
discretion. The Purchaser will indemnify the Vendor for any damage that may be
caused to gates, fences, buildings or equipment etc in the course of removal of any
Lot.
6. The Auctioneers intend to sell the order Lotted and described in the catalogue, but
reserve the right to make any alteration if so required.
7. The Auctioneers will not be responsible for any Lots damaged by fire, accident or
otherwise and all Lots are the Purchasers responsibility from the fall of the hammer.
8. Upon failure of complying with the above conditions, money deposited in payment
will be forfeited and the Lots which may remain uncleared after the time aforesaid
will be sold by public or private sale without notice to the former Puchaser and the
deficiency (if any) by such a second sale, together with all charges attending the same,
shall be made good by the defaulter at this sale.
9. In the event of a Lot not selling in the saleroom any further negotiations are to be
conducted through the Auctioneers, as agents to the Vendor, and these conditions will
apply for private sale also.
INSPECTION
Prospective Purchasers should view each Lot before bidding to satisfy themselves as to the
quantity, quality, weight, measurements, etc, as no warranty whatsoever is given by the
Auctioneers.
