Dow Building Solutions and Dow Solar Solutions
Scott Young – Global Director, Energy Efficiency Portfolio, Dow Building Solutions
Scott Young is the global director for the DBS Energy Efficiency portfolio. In this role,
Young is responsible for the global marketing strategy and direction for energy efficiency
within Dow Building Solutions across market segments, products and solutions.
Prior to assuming his current role, Young was market manager for Dow’s North America
Residential Building Insulation business. He was the market development manager for
Building Materials, North America from 1998 to 2001. Since joining Dow Canada in
1989, Young has held various commercial and market research and development roles.
John Hammer – Residential Marketing Manager, North America,
Dow Building Solutions
John Hammer is the residential market manager for Dow Building Solutions, North
America. Hammer also oversees the Agricultural insulation and Marine applications
group. In this role, Hammer is responsible for profitability and growth, including the
development and implementation of marketing strategies that address enhanced profit
and value growth primarily for extruded polystyrene and polyisocyanurate foam
insulation. Hammer previously worked as the market development manager in the
Specialty Plastics & Elastomers business at Dow. Prior to this, Hammer spent 10 years
in various sales management, market development and business development leadership
roles for a privately-held company with extensive experience in Latin America.
Jane Palmieri -- Managing Director, North America, Dow Solar Solutions
Palmieri is responsible for creating a strategic market entry plan for Dow’s building
integrated photovoltaics. She is also a member of the Market Facing Business
Leadership Team. Palmieri joined Dow Automotive in 1995 as an application
development engineer responsible for the growth of plastics into the automotive industry,
and has held a variety of positions in marketing, new business development, and
business operations during her 12 years with the company. Prior to joining Dow Solar
Solutions, Palmieri was the strategic marketing director for Dow Coating Solutions,
where she was responsible for the strategic vision of the business unit, including NBD,

M&A, Branding and Marketing competencies. Prior to that, she served as supply chain
director for Specialty Chemicals.
Dave Parrillo- Senior R&D Director, North America, Dow Solar Solutions
Parrillo is responsible for all R&D activities for Dow Solar Solutions and is a member of
the business team. Parrillo joined Dow in 2007 as the senior R&D director for Dow
Technology Licensing & Catalyst (DTLC) Business. Prior to his current position, Dave
was the senior R&D director for Ventures & Business Development R&D, where he
participated as a member of the V&BD Leadership Team. Before joining Dow, Dave held
various positions at major electric and chemical companies, where he worked to develop
products and processes serving numerous markets. Dave is a certified Six Sigma Black
Belt.
Patricia Nugent--Senior Leader, New Business Development, Dow Solar Solutions
Nugent is responsible for developing the next generation product and market segment
pipeline and securing external funding and support for future growth opportunities in
photovoltaics for Dow’s specialty materials, building and roofing products, and
alternative energy markets. Nugent joined Dow in 1987 and has held diverse roles in
research & development (R&D) and new business development. In 2004, Nugent
joined Dow Ventures and led an early stage exploration of opportunities for Dow in
Alternative Energy. As part of securing funding and support for Dow Solar Solutions,
Nugent co-authored a proposal for the Department of Energy’s Solar America Initiative.
The Dow proposal was selected as one of the 12 awardees for DOE funding.
Dan Pezolt-North American Portfolio Director, Dow Solar Solutions
Pezolt is responsible for leading the implementation and cross-functional execution of
the portfolio strategy, including segment participation; product, partner and supplier
development; channel participation model, asset management, and the commercial
application development team. Pezolt joined Dow in 1992 as a research engineer
working on separation process technologies. In 1997 he joined Dow Automotive as an
application development engineer. Later, Pezolt assumed product management
responsibility for Dow Automotive’s acoustic parts and foams business. Pezolt was also
a sales director at Dow Automotive, where he led the Chrysler and BMW sales teams and
was responsible for account revenue, profitability, and new business growths.
