Snake River Chapter Communication
Meetings:
Snake River Chapter offers very informative technical sessions during monthly meetings and
communicates these meetings in a variety of ways:

Notices and calendar invitations are sent out through email distribution groups to Chapter members
and friends at least 14 days prior to the event;

Upcoming meeting dates, times, and locations are included in each Chapter meeting agenda;

Upcoming meetings are featured on our homepage and our Facebook page and a calendar of
meetings is posted on our website; and

Upcoming meetings are published in each monthly newsletter.
Snake River Chapter’s geographic area is very large and many members cannot attend the monthly
meetings. We started video graphing our technical sessions are now post the recordings on our websites
so that all members can enjoy them.
Newsletter:
Snake River Chapter published 11 newsletters last year and they are very popular with our members.
Newsletters generally include an article about the last technical session, Chapter news, ASSE Society
news, relevant safety news, upcoming classes and conferences, and job opportunities. An example is
attached.
Student Outreach Initiative:
Snake River Chapter started a student outreach initiative last year and visited classes in the
Environmental Health and Construction Management departments at Boise State University. The
students were very receptive and interested in safety. We added 25 students to our mailing list, one has
joined, and several have attended meetings. A copy of the presentation is attached. We are currently
exploring the possibility of doing similar presentations at the College of Western Idaho.
