





determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence or operations
Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) centres to perform precision machining
operations to produce the highest quality aerospace parts for this demanding industry
Set-up, operate and maintain a variety of machine centres
Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using the latest
precision measuring instruments.

Airframe Technician
What you will do!
Airframe technicians run thorough inspections of aircraft frames, mechanical components and
electrical systems to locate wear, defects and other problems. They read documentation and
other repair manuals to determine standards and procedures, and test aircraft functions using
diagnostic instruments to ensure those standards are being met. They then repair or replace
components using hand or power tools

 Pre-coating surface preparation of components.
 Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and fixtures utilized for the
preparation of components for coating
 Ensure that all paperwork and records meet customer contract requirements and job routing
instructions
 Assembly of substrates into fixtures
 Monitoring of coating parameters during production runs and record any applicable information
required
 Responsible to follow specific processing procedures, and detect malfunctions or imperfections
through surveillance of machinery and materials

properties of materials, components and systems without causing damage. If

restore specific features to acceptable limits with respect to size and position
relative to existing part features as defined in the repair process documentation.
Manufacturing of tooling, jigs and fixtures in accordance with detailed
manufacturing drawings.
Manufacture of small components (sleeves, etc.) in accordance with detail parts
drawings.
Machinists are required to perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the
machines in their care and to ensure that the work areas are maintained clean
and free of chips and machine cuttings as far as is practical.

of repair to restore specific features to acceptable limits with respect to size and
