IB Full Diploma “Non-Negotiables”:

You MUST be in a foreign language course over the full two years of full diploma.
You MUST take six IB exams at the end of your senior year. They must come from Groups 16 unless you are taking two courses in Groups 1-5. Then you do not need to test in Group 6.
You MUST complete the Extended Essay and CAS hours.
You MUST have at least 3 HL Classes and 3 SL classes (you may take 4 HL classes and 2 SL
classes).

The TOK course is where the bulk of guidance for the Extended Essay, CAS, and TOK
assessments occur.
WHY should you do the IB Full Diploma?
The key to success in IB is student motivation. Students who enjoy school and schoolwork, who readily
accept the challenge of school and thrive on those challenges do well in the IB Program. IB requires more
than rote memorization. Students are challenged to participate actively and think far beyond just
memorizing facts. Students who want more academic stimulation thrive in the IB Diploma Program. IB
students realize that information presented in texts is just the beginning of understanding. They look
beyond the surface interpretations to understand the whys and how’s of knowledge in each area of
learning. Students need to show motivation, a determination to do their best, a willingness to organize
themselves so they can complete the work to lead full and balanced lives at the same time.
