Math-We have started our unit on long
division. We are working on the basic concept
with base 10 blocks, then we will move on to
drawing a model of the division problem.
Finally we will practice the familiar algorithm
of long division. This can sometimes be a bit
tedious, as it requires a lot of detail work.
Keep encouraging your child to work carefully!
We will have an MM TEST on Thursday. The
students will have to use the metric staircase
that is in their math journal. They will also
have to complete 2 digit x2 digit problems.
.
Science: Separating mixtures is the theme of
the week. We will use magnets to separate
mixtures and we will complete several fun
activities with chromotography. The science
research is a set of workbook pages. There
will be a vocabulary quiz on Friday. Your child
has all the vocabulary in his/her notebook.

Division Facts
We are working hard to master the basic division
facts. Understanding that these are simply the
inverse or opposite of the multiplication facts is
key to mastering these facts. We have set a
goal of November 21. By that time, your child
should be able to correctly answer 93/100 basic
facts in 6 minutes. Your child has a graph of
his/her progress in the math journal. Check out
the websites below for extra practice. 
From The Teacher:
A HUGE than-you to our parents for making our dance a success.

We need SKITTLES! We need (60)indivdual sized packets of SKITTLES for a
