General rules

All entries must be in English. Supporting materials in languages other than English are
eligible but full English translations must accompany each entry.

All eligible and applying organisations must be successfully operating and implementing
sustainable tourism activities for at least one year.

Handwritten applications will not be accepted.

Incomplete applications i.e., applications with missing information or blank fields will be
disqualified.

No extension to the deadline will be allowed.

Applicants must have no prior contact with or lobby judges during the award process.
Such activities will provide the basis for immediate disqualification.

All applications will be published on the PATA sustainability website,
www.sustain.pata.org, under the creative commons attribution-non commercial 4.0
international license.

PATA may share the contact details of winners’ and finalists’ with trusted media partners
for promotional purposes.

2. Please demonstrate how your organisation contributes to the promotion of sustainable
food and agriculture initiatives at the locality or localities in which you operate. Illustrate
any monitoring and evaluation activities your organisation undertakes and any menu
changes that contribute to more sustainable diets. Sustainable diets are protective and
respectful of biodiversity and ecosystems, culturally acceptable, accessible,
economically fair and affordable; nutritionally adequate, safe and healthy; while
optimizing natural and human resources. (max 1500 characters)
3. Please demonstrate how your organisation works to reduce food waste at the locality or
localities in which you operate. Illustrate any activities your organisation undertakes,
such as quantification and monitoring, staff and client awareness-raising, and any
