Daily Lesson Plan:
How will you engage the students? To start off I will have bring in my own game of Loteria which is like a
Mexican bingo. I will have the set out in the tables so that two students can share one. I will have the
cards and we will play for about 5 minutes just to give the kids a taste of a Mexican game since we will
be learning about Mexican traditions.
Students Will: Watch the video of the dance and
learn its background.

AC will: I will then show the kids a short clip of
what a Baile Florclorico is. I will then ask if any of
them want to come to the front of the class and
dance or try it out. Just to get a laugh out of it.
Differentiation: If the kids are too shy to participate then I will try out and give them a little dance.

celebrations. I will take in Mexican rice for the
students to eat since that is a Mexican poplular
dish. Some holidays that I will talk to them about
will be Quinceaneras, birthday parties, Dia de la
Primavera, Semana Santa, Cinco de Mayo. The
clothing that I will talk about will be the dresses
and costumes that are used for Musicians. We will
talk about famous Mexican dishes. Along with all
of that I will also teach the kids facts about Mexico
such as Mexico’s official name, how many states
Mexico has and so on.
Differentiation: In order for it not to get crazy when I am giving the lesson and passing out the rice I will
have the rice served before the class starts and when we begin the lesson we will give a plate to each
student.
AC will: We will be creating Sombreros. In the
middle of the class I will have a table set up with
paper plates, cups, crayons and other crafts. I will
hand each student a paper plate and a cup along
with some crafts. The student will have to flip the
cup upside down and glue in the middle of the
paper plate and it will create the shape of the
sombrero. The kids will get to color it or decorate
it as they please.
Students will: Follow all instructions and create
their own sombrero. They get to decorate it as
they wish. They will also have to pick up their
crayons once they are done and place them in the
bin where they belong.
Differentiation: On the board I will have pictures of Sombreros so that they can get an idea of what they
look like and how they are decorated.
