Howard County’s Fourth Annual Film “Feastival”

Event Also Kicks off Farm-2-Table Restaurant Weeks

Columbia, MD (June 18, 2013) – Food, farms, films and fun all add up to one thing: The 2013

Film Feastival. This year’s Film Feastival will be held from 6-9 p.m., July 16 at Clark’s Elioak Farm,

10500 Clarksville Pike (Route 108), Ellicott City.

The 2013 Film Feastival will feature several short films that highlight the importance of local agriculture. While the films are showing, guests can also chat with Howard County farmers, restaurateurs, chefs, business owners and agricultural experts to learn about local resources available to support healthy lifestyles, environmental stewardship and local farms. As a bonus, tasty treats will be served that showcase locally grown products.

“We are grateful to Martha Clark for opening up her farm for this fun event,” said Kathy Zimmerman,

Agricultural Development Manager for the Howard County Economic Development Authority.

“Martha’s family has been a mainstay in Howard County’s vibrant farming community since the late

1700s. Visitors to her farm will not just enjoy a great event, but breathtaking views and an appreciation for her family’s love for, and commitment to, farming.”

The Film Feastival will also serve as the kick off to Howard County’s Farm-2-Table Restaurant Weeks, which will begin July 17and run thru August 5 and the Buy Local Maryland Challenge, which will be held July 21 to 29.

The Film Feastival is a joint effort of the Agricultural Marketing Program of the Howard County

Economic Development Authority, Howard County Tourism & Promotion, the University of Maryland

Extension-Howard County and Clark’s Elioak Farm. The media sponsor is The Business Monthly newspaper.
