GET INTO THE SWING – 50s STYLE AT HAWK’S WELL
DURING CAIRDE FESTIVAL
Dance the night away at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Saturday 12th of July. The uplifting and joyful
comedy Swing from Fishamble: the new play company comes to the theatre for one night only
during the Cairde Arts Festival. So the theatre is planning a great night out - 50s style. Before the
show Betty Bang styling will be on hand to transform all the ladies in attendance into foxy dames.
Betty Bang will work high voltage magic on those 90s hairdos so choose from victory rolls, quiffs or a
Betty Bang look on top. Add feline eyes and bombshell lips and you will have a pout to shout about!
Party dresses will also be available to hire from Betty Bang’s 50s Frock shop.

Irish Theatre Magazine’s review of Swing speaks of a funny and warm play “with a rousing finale
that’s enough to make you kick up your own heels”. So Joe Fury and the Hayride will be on hand in
the foyer to get the audience up on their feet after the show to kick up those heels!. Joe Fury and
the Hayride are the first ever Irish band to play at the“Rockabilly Rave” in the UK, the world’s biggest
Rockabilly Festival and the only non-trad Irish act that Matt Molloy insists play in his world famous
Westport pub. You won’t be able to sit still!
Swing from Fishamble: the new play company comes to the Hawk's Well Theatre at the start of the
Cairde Arts Festival this July. Tickets are €15 and include entrance to the after party with Joe Fury

Following its hugely successful premiere as part of Show in a Bag in the 2013 Dublin Fringe Festival,
Swing wowed audiences at the Irish Arts Centre - New York, the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, the
Peacock as part of Dublin Dance Festival Ireland in May and is currently on an extensive Irish tour
which sees them dance before 17 counties before continuing to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, supported
by Culture Ireland.
This funny joyful has been getting outstanding reviews and is guaranteed to put smiles on all faces
and have the audiences dancing in the aisles.
A comedy about dancing and music and love and not settling and feeling like an eejit and being
brave and having doubts and trying your best and trying new things and thinking outside the box and
seeing things clearly and living as well as you can and giving it a lash. With rock and roll music. It'll
make you want to dance.
