Rules

The organising authority is Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club.

Racing will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing, except as amended by this

Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.

All competing boats shall comply with such regulations as may be in force within the Dockyard Port of Plymouth.

A copy of these will be available in the Race Office.

Entries

Each competitor is entirely responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing in this Notice to

Race or in the issued sailing instructions or anywhere else for the series reduces this responsibility. It is for the boat crews to decide whether they are fit to sail in the conditions in which they may find themselves. By launching or going to sea, the boat crew confirms that it is fit for those conditions and that they are competent to sail and compete in them. The boat is required to hold adequate insurance against third party claims in the sum of 2 million pounds.

Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing.

The series is open to all members of PPSA affiliated clubs. Handicaps are based on the RYA 2013 list.

Asymmetric boats will be those with a current Portsmouth Yardstick rating of 1085 or less. Fast Handicap boats will be those with a current Portsmouth Yardstick rating of 1101 or less. Slow Handicap boats will be those with a current Portsmouth Yardstick rating of 1400 or higher.

No dinghy shall take part in the races unless the organisers have accepted a completed entry form and payment in advance.
