118.81 miles deep
This earthquake occurred here because the oceanic plate is being subducted
underneath the continental plate. After a long time the continental plate builds up
so much tension that it eventually “springs” up or gives way, causing an
earthquake.

14.35 miles deep
This earthquake was caused by the oceanic plate to the right, being
subducted underneath the oceanic plate that Guam is located on. When
Guam’s plate builds up enough pressure due to the other plate being sucked
underneath it, it needs to release pressure, thus causing an earthquake.
Continental – Continental Boundary

8:03:17 P.M. at Epicenter
28.27 miles deep
This earthquake most likely happened because India’s plate is pushing
into Tibet’s/China’s plate and causing the earth to move upward. When this
happens, an earthquake occurs.
Transform Boundary

Wednesday, April 13, 2011
12:28:57 A.M. at epicenter
19.26 miles deep
This earthquake occurred because these two plates are sliding past
each other. After so long they build up a ton of pressure and eventually slip,
causing an earthquake
Divergent Boundary
Greenland Sea
Mag. 4.5
Thursday, April 14, 2011
4:52:06 P.M. at epicenter
8.82 miles deep
This earthquake occurred here because these two oceanic plates are
being pushed away from each other, due to magma penetrating the earth’s
crust and pushing them aside. When this happens, the earth moves and
earthquakes occur.
