What do I do if……..
I am absent?
It is the STUDENT’S responsibility to ask what assignments were missed. Ask
Mrs. Browning before or after class; sending an e-mail works too. Students will
have one day per absent days to complete work. If an assignment is due on the
day a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to give the assignment
to Mrs. Browning on the day he or she returns or it is late. E-mail and the
classroom website are available.
I forget to turn in an assignment?
Students are expected to complete and turn in all assignments on time. If an
assignment is not completed on time, the student may turn in the assignment for
partial credit. Some credit is better than no credit; always turn in your work!
I need to go to the bathroom during class?
This must be done before class. If you have passes left for the week you may
use the bathroom, however I reserve the right to have you wait until a breaking
point. Your id must be displayed in order to leave the classroom. Once all
passes are used for the week you may not use the bathroom. Coming late to
class and saying “I was in the restroom” is not an option. If you go someplace
besides the restroom, your bathroom privileges will be revoked for the semester.
I am upset or confused about something?
If something happens in class that is a problem, please stay after class so we can
talk about it. Communication is very important; I cannot fix a problem you are
having if I do not know about the problem.
I want to say something in class?
Raise your hand! And if I do not call on you right away, write down your
thoughts so that you don’t forget. Your opinions are very important to me and
are valuable to your classmates.
I need to contact Mrs. Browning or need extra help in class?
I am available before and after school most days. Please make an appointment
with me if you need help. I will check my school e-mail at home, so you are
welcome to e-mail me questions related to assignments.
I forgot to bring my book/workbook to class?
These should be brought to class daily. If you forgot, I will have extra copies or
books that can be “checked out.” I understand forgetting occasionally, however
if this happens more than three times in a semester a consequence will result.

 Sometimes as a teaching tool it is beneficial to trade and grade papers in
class. If a student is sensitive about doing this method, they may talk to
the teacher and we will work together to make other arrangements.

Students caught cheating will receive a zero.
