CALL FOR ARTISTS
Greater Hudson Valley and New York City Areas
Artists from Brooklyn to Kingston are invited to participate in the
Orange County Arts Council’s Juried Art Exhibit:
Functional Objects
The Orange County Arts Council is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the
growing need for local arts advocacy and serving as a county-wide arts resource for Orange
County, New York.
The Arts Council is currently seeking proposal submissions for an outdoor group art exhibit to be
juried and curated by Nora Lawrence, Curator at Storm King Art Center in Mountainville, NY. The
show will be on view at Safe Harbors of the Hudson in Newburgh, NY. Each selected artist will
receive a minimum $500 honorarium. Larger amounts may be awarded depending on project
size, construction, material, etc.
The show will consist of created or planned works selected to interact with Safe Harbors Green,
the organization’s new outdoor park. The park, located between Ann Street, Liberty Street and
Broadway, covers one block in a heavily trafficked urban environment. When current renovations
are complete, the park will feature a green, a plaza for public events, an overlook area, rain water
gardens and a child-friendly section. See map below.
