RV PARKING
RV parking is available on the fairgrounds. RV parking is
$25.00 per vehicle and must be paid with entry fees.
SHOW INFORMATION
All entries are due by April 4, 2015. Entry fee per animal is
$50.00. Premiums will be paid to juniors through 5th place in
all individual classes. Open division premiums are as follows:

Entries may be filled out electronically on the CA
Holstein Association Website; however, they are NOT
accepted online. They must be printed out and mailed in

REGISTRATION PAPERS
Registration papers MUST accompany animals to the show.
Papers must be checked no later than 12:00 noon on
Wednesday. If the paper is not present with the animal, the
animal cannot be shown. NO EXCEPTIONS.

A futurity class for 2017is in development
BEDDING:
Straw will be provided
AWARDS & SPONSORS:
If you are interested in sponsoring class awards, please
contact us ASAP. Sponsorship letters were mailed separately,
or you can notify us via your entry. Sponsorships start at
only $50.00. For more information, contact a Show
Committee Member.
PREMIER BREEDER:
Awarded to the breeder winning the most points, not to
exceed five animals in the open division. Points will be
awarded to the breeder listed on the registration paper.
Individuals with one prefix (family units) will be considered
1 unit on the entry card; all names that share the same prefix
must be listed.
PREMIER EXHIBITOR:
Awarded to the exhibitor winning the most points, not to
exceed five animals in the open division. Exhibitor
points will be awarded to the herd unit exhibiting the animals
providing the exhibitor has an ownership interest in that
animal. In the case of multiple ownership, the exhibitor must
show proof of ownership as denoted on the entry card.

SHOW RULES:
ALL EXHIBITORS ARE EXPECTED TO ADHERE TO
THE JERSEY SHOW RING CODE OF ETHICS.
ELIGIBILITY
1. ALL Junior exhibitors must be members of the California
Jersey Association in order to exhibit at the State Show.
Dues must be paid by check-in day in order to show.
2. All animals owned by either junior or senior exhibitors must
have an Original Registration Certificate from the Jersey
Association, presented to the clerks at entry check - NO
EXCEPTIONS. Recovery animals must be at least “GR” to
be eligible for show. No “OA” or “PR” animals may be
exhibited. Exhibitors may show animals for which there is a
designated class, provided that there is a properly transferred
registry certificate and/or properly signed transfer and
registry certificate available for transfer by show
management. All signed transfers with registry certificates
will be collected by the clerks checking in the animals and
sent to the Jersey Association immediately following the
show – NO EXCEPTIONS
3. An exhibitor is further defined as “where a herd is
registered in the names of different members of a family,
residing on one farm and where the herd is handled as
one unit, all entries may be considered as such for the
club herd at the State Show, if the class is held.
4. Only herds that are entered in the State program for the
control of TB and Brucellosis in dairy cattle and are not
under quarantine by the State Bureau are eligible to
participate in the shows. Animals with communicable or
contagious diseases or ailments should not be shown.
5. Exhibitors are required to wear white trousers when
leading animals in the ring.
6. The management reserves the final and absolute right to
interpret the above rules and regulations, and to arbitrarily
settle questions and differences thereto, or otherwise
arising out of, or connected with, or incident of the exhibit.
JUNIOR PARTICIPATION
1. Junior entries must be registered in the junior exhibitor’s
name only.
2. Juniors and seniors will show together at the Show.
3. All juniors are eligible to show, but leadspersons must be
at least seven years of age.
4. Juniors must show their own animals for showmanship
(except Peewee) and that animal must be entered in the
show.
5. Juniors must be members of the California State Jr.
Jersey Association.
6. Junior animals must be lead by an eligible junior .

SYSTEM OF JUDGING
The American system of judging shall be used at the
California Spring Jersey Show.
SUBSTITUTIONS
1. An exhibitor may make substitutions at the State Show
for an animal on a one-for-one basis.
2. Substitutions may be made at the exhibitor’s discretion in
the group class at the State Show, provided there are no
violations of other rules.
3. Groups may be formed at the State Show with animals
eligible for individual classes, provided there are no
violations of other rules.
SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES:
There will be Peewee, Intermediate and Advanced
Showmanship classes for juniors exhibiting at the State
Spring Jersey Show will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Clipping contest to follow for Advanced Showmanship.
BEST UDDERS
There will be no separate class judged on udder alone. The
judge will select the best udder in each milking class and
these animals will receive appropriate ribbons.
GROUP CLASSES
Registration certificates for all animals entered in any group
class must be brought into the ring with the animals.
Members of each group shown must have first been shown
in their respective individual class.
JUNIOR BEST 3 FEMALES: 3 heifers not older than a Senior
Yearling and bred by exhibitor. At least two animals must be
owned by the exhibitor.
SENIOR BEST 3 FEMALES - 3 females, any age, all bred by
exhibitor with same prefix and at least 1 owned by the
exhibitor.
RULING COMMITTEE
The Ruling Committee shall consist of five people, at least
three of which are exhibitors at the show. This committee
will be responsible for all ruling decisions on any written
alleged violation on entry procedures brought forth by any
exhibitor on a rule that is in question or violation by another
exhibitor. If the exhibitor involved with the rule violation is a
member of this committee, he/she will step off the committee
for this ruling and the other four members of the committee
will decide the outcome of the ruling.
