FOOTBALL SEASON IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!
The North Pike Middle School Jaguars open the 2015 season at home as they take on the Franklin
County Jr. High Bulldogs. The first game is set for today. The 7th grade game begins at 5 pm with
the 8th grade game to follow at 6 pm. A pep rally will be held in conjunction with the opening
game around 1:30 today.
The 8th grade squad:
Dalton Bacot, Montana Billeaudeau, Dowayne Charlot, Logan Coker, Brady Cooksey, Robert Creel,
Jaden Dillon, Andrez’ Falgout, Zitaevez Gatlin, Grayson Hewitt, Juwan Humphries, Derrick Jackson,
Kody Jenkins, Clayton Lawrence, Alijah Martin, Hunter Martin, Keonte Martin, David McKenzie, Robert
Mixon, Triston Myers, Travonte’ Roberts, Ethan Wilchynski, Logan Willey, Khalil Williams, and Adam
Willingham. The coaches are Will Gunnell and A.J. Freeman.
The 7th grade squad

Davis, Jackson Fortenberry, Zamarea Fountain, Adrian Garcia, John Johnson, Jaylin Jones, Austin
Keene, Fredarius Lewis, Dalton McGehee, Brandon McKenzie, Damuriyon Montgomery, Lucas Morgan,
Dragon Nguyen, Mitchell Perry, Garrett Preston, Tavorious Quin, Timothy Roberts, Cade Rush, Justin
Stinson, Caston Thompson, Anthony Varaksa, Luke Weber, Keegan Roberts, and Alex Perry. The
coaches are Steve Brock and Paul Watkins.
THE 2015-2016 NORTH PIKE MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE TEAM
These 16 young ladies will be representing the Junior Jaguars during the 2015-2016 season. They
include Sequioa McCray (captain), Hayden Fortenberry (co-captain), Zamaria Malloy (co-captain),
Cassie Chisholm, Madelaine Paden, Sierra Case, Bridjette Jones-Talbert, Brianna Mulligan, Taelor
Kapler, Leah Willingham, Lauren McDaniel, Clara McCullough, Sydney Parker, Larissa Williams, Charlie
McWilliams, and Shatoria Vigne.
THE 2015-2016 NORTH PIKE JUNIOR HIGH CHEERLEADERS
Eight
graders and seven 7th graders make up this year’s cheerleading team. The 8th grade
cheerleaders include: Sara Ashley, Ashlyn Blanton, Mary Ellen Brock, Baleigh Brumfield, Kaymie Laird,
Bailey Shamis, Grace Slipher, and Mer’cades Miller. 7th grade cheerleaders are Brookleigh Brumfield,
Mary B. Case, Laney Etheridge, Claire Simpson, Joli Spears, Cassie Whatley, and Grayce Bales.

Meet Our New Teachers
Ms. Jennifer Biggs - 8th Gr. Language Arts- Ms. Biggs is now in her 11th year as a teacher with most of those years spent teaching Language Arts. She has an
MA in education and has taught grades 4-to-college. She is an animal lover who likes to read and learn. “I try to learn something new each day. I try my
best to look on the bright side of life … some days I’m more successful at that than others.”
Ms. Julie Lawson - 6th Gr. Math – Ms. Lawson is a 2002 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Hospitality Administration. After
working in Atlanta, GA., for 10 years, she moved home to Summit and became a 4th grade math, science, and social studies teacher at Higgins. She is in the
process of completing her Master’s degree this fall from Mississippi State University. She has been married for 9 years and she has two little girls, ages 7
and 3. “I am excited to be teaching at my Alma Mater!”
Mr. Trace Abdul-Hadi - 5th Gr. Inclusion - Mr. Hadi handles 5th grade Inclusion and also serves as the assistant basketball coach for the high school. He and
his wife are the proud parents of 2 sons. His wife, Bethany Abdul-Hadi, is a math teacher at North Pike High School. His two sons are Maddox (who will be
2 in November), and Braxton (born July 14). This is his third year in education, two at South Pike, and one at McComb. He graduated from North Pike in
2006, attended Southwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. While at North Pike, he was a member of both the
basketball and golf teams.
Ms. Melinda Smith - 8th Gr. Science - Ms. Smith was born and raised in McComb. She is a 1994 graduate of McComb High School and a 1996 graduate of
Southwest Mississippi Community College. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999 with a B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation. She
worked as a certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for 5 years. She received her masters degree in Education from Mississippi College in 2010. She
taught science at the alternative school in Brookhaven for 9 years. She and her husband Ken have 4 children; Madison, Matthew, Aiden, and Krista. Madison
passed away at the age of 2. Matthew is a 4th grader, Aiden is a 2nd grader, and Krista is 2. They are faithful members of Summit First Baptist Church, and
a proud member of the North Pike Jaguar family!
Judy Johnson - 5th grade Language Arts – Ms. Johnson began her teaching career in 2002 at Eva Gordon Elementary in Magnolia. At Eva Gordon, she taught
1st grade for 5 years and 2nd grade for 6 years. A resident of Summit, she is married to Ronnie Johnson and they have three daughters: Jessica Johnson,
Katelyn Johnson Williamson, and Kristen Johnson. Her son-in-law is Mathew Williamson, and they are all North Pike graduates. She also has one
granddaughter, Avery Leigh Williamson.
Jennifer Morgan - Resource Self-Contained – Ms. Morgan is a graduate of South Pike High School. She received her associate degree from Southwest
Mississippi Community College and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is currently working on her master’s degree
from William Carey University with a graduation date set for May 2016. She taught kindergarten for four years and was an inclusion teacher for one year.
Currently in her sixth year of teaching, she is married with two children, Tyler 7, and Kenna 3.
Joe Taylor - 8th grade Mathematics – Coach Taylor serves as 8th grade math teacher and middle school basketball coach. He is married with 3 children and
7 grandchildren. He is a 1984 graduate of South Pike High School, and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science and Applied
Mathematics from Alcorn State University in 1988. He later received his Master of Arts in Secondary Education from William Carey University in 2006. He
has taught Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II at the high school level. He is also a workforce instructor with Southwest Mississippi Community College.
Sarah Dale - Elementary & Show Choir – Ms. Dale is in her 9th year of teaching music. She has taught general music at all grade levels, and directed
elementary, middle, and high school concert choirs and show choirs. Her groups have received superior ratings at festivals, and many of her students have
been chosen for the Mississippi Honors Choir. Originally from Columbia, Ms. Dale graduated from William Carey University with a Bachelors in Music
Education. She resides in McComb with her husband, Andrew and children Aaron Cooper and Lillie Marie. They attend First Baptist Church McComb where
they currently leading worship and choirs. Welcome to the Jaguar Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
