Review the assigned mini-lessons from http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/index2.htm for each of the topics
listed below. You will find the name of each mini-lesson in the right-hand column across from the topic.
Once you have reviewed the assigned mini-lessons, you should go to
http://college.cengage.com/devenglish/resources/writing_ace/students/index.html to take each practice test
(EXCEPT for Lookalikes and Soundalikes). You will email your results from each practice test to ME at
shelley.stinson@warren.kyschools.us. Be sure to also send a copy of your results to yourself just in case your
results get lost in the “CLOUD.”
You must score AT LEAST an 80% on each module to have it count towards your review. If you do not score
the required 80%, you are expected to redo the module until you receive an acceptable score. You must complete
each module before you will be released to take the Writing portion of the COMPASS test.
Keep this handout so you will have the addresses for both web sites as well as my email address. We will spend
each Wednesday and Thursday in the library so that you may complete these modules and review for the
COMPASS test.
