Unit 1 Fiction And Nonfiction
About the Unit:
Students will compare the organizational structure of fiction and non-fiction.
Students will write an autobiographical narrative or descriptive essay in the form of a short story.
What is the best way to find truth?
Essential Learnings:
 Students will be able to offer a general understanding of the basic features of fiction versus nonfiction.
 Students will be able to utilize in writing the grammatical and organizational foundational structures of the English language.

About the Unit:
Students will encounter the different features of a fiction work.
Students will write a response to literature essay where they review a short story.

 Students will be able to identify elements of plot in fictional works to aid in overall comprehension of text.
