Community Service Club 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month

2:30-3:15 Room 307 Is open to all grades and meets to organize and participate
in community based projects.
Upper School Math Team - Thursdays Ms. Steward 2:30-3:30 Room 321
Grades 7 & 8 Competes in the Intermediate Math League of Eastern Mass.
There are five meets throughout the year – students compete against other
schools.
Lower School Math Club - Tuesdays Mrs. Kaushik 2:30-3:30 Room 210
Grades 5 & 6 Is open to 5th & 6th graders who are math enthusiasts and enjoy
solving interesting and challenging problems outside of school.
Upper School Student Council - Mondays Mr. Dyer 2:30-3:30 Room 117
Once a month or more Grades 7 & 8 Students will have the chance to generate
school spirit, plan fundraisers, and work on creative projects.
Lower School Student Council - Mondays twice a month Ms. Hawkins 2:303:15 Room 223 Grades 5 & 6 Students will have the chance to generate school
spirit, plan fundraisers, and work on creative projects.
Cheetahzine - Tuesdays Ms. Sardella 2:30-3:30 Room 229 Cheetahzine is
the school newspaper and is limited to 16 students. Students must commit to
attending all meetings and commit to completing some independent work.
Cross Country - Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. Mr. Tausek Practices from 2:40-3:40
Meets from 2:40-6:00
Is open to 7th & 8th graders Meet at the backstop of the
softball field. Students have the opportunity to compete against other schools. 8

Courtyard Club - Tuesdays Fall and Spring Mr. Ligon 2:25-3:15 Meets in the
courtyard. Is open to all grades and students are involved in a diversity of
gardening activities.
Yearbook - Every other Thursday Mr. Mondesir 2:30-3:30 Computer Lab 235
Open to all students. Students play an integral part in the planning of the
Chenery yearbook.
Basketball - TBA
Open to 7th & 8th graders through tryouts.
Best Buddies - Once a month on Wednesdays Linda Bartlett – LABBB Faculty
1:15-3:00 Large Community Room. Best Buddies is an international
organization and fosters friends for students with disabilities. Chenery students
have the opportunity to establish friendships and participate in activities with
LABBB students.
Science Olympiad Team - Mondays Mr. Marks & Mrs. Marks 2:25-3:35 Room
324 Grades 6 – 8. Participants on the team will spend their time in and out of
school preparing for a state competition in March. Students will practice lab
skills, prepare for specific content tests and solve engineering problems.
Lower School Theater Workshop - Thursdays Mr. Haywood 3:00-4:15 Room
144 Is open to 5th & 6th graders Students will do some improv theater, short
skits, and participate in the writing of their own script.
Jazz Ensemble - Thursdays Ms. Phipps 2:45-4:00
