Recently there have been reports in this neighborhood of
stalking by employees of private security firms. In some
cases, these stalkers portray themselves as law enforcement
agents (a violation of California Penal Code section 538d).
If you are in doubt about the identity of such persons, you

Stalking (maliciously following, harassing, and threatening
another person) is a violation of California Penal Code
section 646.9 and may be punishable by up to three years in
state prison for a first offense. Some of the stalking tactics

sometimes include entering the victim’s residence without
a search warrant, conducting invasive surveillance without
a warrant, and intentional infliction of emotional distress as
a form of punishment without a trial.
