2014-15 Experiential Site Visits
Some of the more advanced Linked Learning districts in the state have agreed to host Experiential Site Visits for teams who are eager to
engage with and learn from Linked Learning students, teachers, administrators, and partners. We recommend that a leadership team (of 515 district, school site, and community leaders) from each district participate in at least two site visits. They are available on a first-come,
first-served basis, and each has a limit of 60 participants. Each site visit is designed to meet a common set of outcomes. Below, you will find
information about the host district, date/time, visit description, and a link to the registration page.
Outcomes: Experiential Site Visits are intended to meet the following outcomes for participants:




Understanding of the various features of a mature Linked Learning pathway and how, by design, they fit together as a whole to
provide a coherent 4-year program of study for students
Understanding of how interdisciplinary, real-world projects and work-based learning experiences combine to change the nature of
learning for pathway students and help them to meet pathway- and district-level student learning outcomes
Clear sense of why strong site and district leadership, a well-designed district infrastructure, and intentional alignment of resources
and initiatives are necessary to ensure the conditions for effective pathway implementation and sustainability
Action steps for incorporating the team's collective learning into plans for implementing a system of Linked Learning pathways
