Hypothesis: 40% of pediatricians are male.
Sample: 3 out of 11 doctors at a Pediatricians office are male.
1. What do you think is a reliable sample size?
2. Assign ‘M’ for male pediatrician to 4 of the 10 number values below.

3. If using a graphing calculator, press “math,” scroll over to “PRB,” and down to
“randInt(” and press enter. Next, type in “0 , 9 , 11).” This tells the calculator to
generate random numbers between 0 through 9 11 times to represent our possible
doctors office. (If you have 10-sided dice, roll 11 of them at a time to generate the
same random sample. Repeat this process based on the number of samples your
teacher assigns.)
4. Record your outcomes on the chart paper in the front of the room.
5. Copy the data from the board on to your dot plot below.
