PPE specific expectations:
Terminology must include specific concepts from the Constitution like separation of
powers, federalism, commerce, or democratic principles like limited government, rule of
law. You could reference or incorporate the theories on origins of the state, LOTUS
topics, and fundamental concepts of democracy or sources of power. Power should be
easy to connect as the Constitution establishes the power of government.
There must also include a current event as an example. Include proper/complete
bibliographic information.
Point (in PPE) should be one sentence and identify a clear position on the ratification
debate (so that we don’t have to guess). Proof should be the quote (or quotes) that will
be used. Explain should clarify the position using both content and concepts. It will
connect the quote to the point in a logical format that shows understanding through
descriptions, examples, or explanation.
The final grade will be out of 38. Scores will be calculated by taking the rubric
value and multiplying it by six.
