Alternate Assignment – Course synthesizing Project (30 points)
1. Identify an organizational behavior topic from the list below and create a hypothetical
case/scenario of a common and organizational-wide challenge in a ficticous/real organization
that requires you as an external agent to help change in order to be a more effective
organization. This should be explained and articulated fully in your understanding of the
problem in the proposal (2a). The topics are:

2. As an Organizational Development consultant develop a 10 to 15 page business proposal you
would present to the senior management of that organization including:
a. Your understanding of the problem
b. Your process to diagnose and confirm this understanding
c. The goal of the proposed intervention
d. The action plan including narrative explanations on the major phases, timeline,
stakeholders, instruments (surveys, interviews etc) for the intervention
e. The resource plan of who (by role), time commitments of those to be included in the
intervention
f. Samples of surveys/interview forms and other instruments that you might use (no more
than 5 pages in total of forms)
3. The grading rubric for this assignment would be:
a. Professional, readable, and well formatted proposal in APA format (5)
b. Energizing, thoughtful, and well developed problem (5)
c. Presentation of intervention, including all steps (10)
d. Proposal/Intervention supported by existing OB models that are cited (5)
e. Understanding of application of OB theory to solving the problem and creation of the
intervention (5)
