66th Annual Fall Conference
September 28-29, 2015
The Fall Conference is an annual event jointly sponsored by the ISBA and IAPSS. This year’s
conference will be held Monday, September 28th and Tuesday, September 29th. The meetings, exhibit hall,
and Tuesday Luncheon will be located in the Indiana Convention Center. (Please note: this is a change from
previous years where the Tuesday Luncheon was held at the Marriott Downtown Hotel)
A comprehensive program is designed by ISBA/IAPSS. The conference will bring to you the latest
information and some of the most informed experts on current topics in education. You get answers to
your questions – you’ll meet leaders from all over the state who have ideas and stories to share – you’ll
have access to experts in everything including, but not limited to: technology, school funding, health care
plans, student achievement and new legislation.
The 2015 Fall Conference is designed to help you become an effective school leader in today’s
changing world!
Housing
Please refer to the separate housing document for the hotels which ISBA has partnered with for
reduced room rates and blocks.
Registration
The registration form may be completed online. Links are on the “Fall Conference” section of our website.
Early registration is highly encouraged.
Monday, September 28, pre-registered participants may pick up their badges, meal tickets and
conference material at the registration desk located in Hall J & K foyer in the Indiana Convention Center.
Badges
A conference badge is required for admission to all conference events and the exhibit hall. Badges
are available only to registered participants, their guests, and registered exhibitors.
What is a Delegate?
The Delegate Assembly shall be the legislative body of the Association and shall consist of one
delegate from each of the school boards holding active membership in the Association. Each such school
board shall designate, prior to the Annual Conference, its official delegate and shall certify such delegate to
the executive director at least ten days prior to such Annual Conference. Such delegate shall be entitled to
vote upon all matters submitted to the Conference as the sole representative of the Board of School
Trustees, and only the accredited delegate shall be entitled to vote.
Delegate Assembly
ISBA Registered Delegates are to report to Wabash Ballroom 1-3 to receive their conference
materials. Confirm with your local school superintendent as to who is designated as the official delegate.
Certification Awards Program (CAP)
School board members attending the Fall Conference will receive 20 core CAP points.
Profession Growth Plan Points (PGP’s)
ISBA has been approved as an eligible sponsor of programs awarding PGP’s for educator license
renewal in Indiana. PGP forms may be obtained Tuesday morning from the ISBA registration personnel to
be completed and returned individually to IDOE. Participants must attend the full Conference in order to
receive PGP’s, no partial points are given.
Exhibitor Sponsored Luncheon
The Exhibitor sponsored luncheon is scheduled at 11:45 a.m. in Exhibit Hall J & K on Monday,
September 28, 2014. One complimentary ticket is issued to each paid participant.
Meal Tickets
Two meal functions require the purchase of tickets –Tuesday Presidents’ Breakfast and the Tuesday
Luncheon to be held at the Convention Center. Pre-ordered meal tickets will be included in the registration
packet. Additional tickets may be purchased at the ISBA registration desk.
Presidents’ Breakfast
A special session designed specifically for board president development – Presidents’
Breakfast/Panel Discussion – is scheduled on Tuesday, September 29th, 7 a.m., room 105-106. Following the
breakfast, a resource panel of board members of consisting of past and present board presidents will field
audience questions pertinent to the school board presidents’ role and responsibilities. Only a board
president or designee may register. Only one board member per School Corporation may attend.
Association Aisle
The Association Aisle is a selection of nonprofit organizations that will showcase a wide variety of
nonprofit programs and services. The Association Aisle will be set up at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29
in the Hall J & K Foyer. Show your support by visiting the various representatives to see what support
services they have to offer.
