Thank you for your interest in applying to the Yale College Council’s committees and teams. There are six committees and teams for which you can apply: Business Team, Communications Team,
Events Committee, Programming Team, Spring Fling Committee, and Undergraduate
Organizations Committee (UOC). Please read the descriptions of each committee and team before filling out your application (see below).
In this written application, you will complete a general section and a specific section corresponding to the specific committee(s) and/or team(s) for which you are applying. Please be sure to complete the specific section for every committee and/or team for which you would like to be considered.
The complete written application is due by Sunday, September 13 th at 11:59pm and must be sent to ycc@yale.edu

Business Team: The Business Team is in charge of seeking sponsorships for YCC, partnering with external businesses to secure discounts for Yale students, and pursuing any additional business initiatives at the discretion of the Finance Director. For more information, please contact Finance

Communications Team: The Communications Team consists of copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and video editors. In collaboration with the Programming Team, the
Programming Team plays a critical role in YCC’s communications and outreach to the student body.
Writers, designers, and photographers work together in teams to jointly produce a wide variety of content, including Yale Speaks, monthly newsletters, promotional graphics, and social media campaigns. Videographers work on an as-needed basis, producing videos that keep students both informed and entertained. For m ore information, please contact Communications Director Maya

Events Committee: The Events Committee is responsible for planning and executing YCC events throughout the year including, but not limited to: speaker events, Final Cut, Battle of the Bands, and the annual Yale-Harvard game party/tailgate. The committee, led by the Events Director, consists of both elected Council representatives and non-elected members who apply to the serve on the committee. Programming Team: The Programming Team consists of web developers and programmers. In collaboration with the Communications Team, the Programming Team plays a critical role in YCC’s communications and outreach to the student body. Members of the Programming Team are responsible for the upkeep of the YCC website and the implementation of projects that require coding skills, such as the creation of the Academics Program Database. Individuals might also be asked to work alongside STC or Yale IT to revamp features such as Yale Station or mobile apps. Spring Fling Committee: The Spring Fling Committee is charged with planning and executing Spring
Fling, Yale’s annual music festival held after the end of classes in April. Spring Fling is one of
Connecticut’s largest music events, bringing together the entire campus to celebrate the end of the year. The committee conducts industry research on potential talent and creates a shortlist of recommendations, compiles and analyzes survey results, and plans the production. Spring Fling Committee members are associate members of YCC. The committee is led by a chair appointed and overseen by YCC Events Director. For more information, please contact

Undergraduate Organizations Committee: The Undergraduate Organizations Committee (UOC) is the primary source of funding for registered student organizations on campus, independently allocating over $250,000 of funding to undergraduate organizations each year. It provides annual funding and support for special events. The UOC oversees organization registration, acts as a liaison between the administrators and student organizations, rents capital equipment (such as audio visual equipment), and works to improve policy related to student organizations on campus. UOC members are full term members of the YCC and the UOC Director leads the committee. For more information, please contact
