Title 1 Parent-School Compact
The compact has been jointly developed and agreed upon by Graves Elementary School, parents, students and school staff. It outlines
how the parents, school, staff, and students will share the responsibility for improving student academic achievement.
School’s Responsibility
I, the undersigned, partner in the education of the children at Graves commit to the following:

Provide a safe environment that encourages positive communication between the teacher, parent, and student.

Stress to the teachers the importance of providing regular homework assignments to reinforce classroom instruction.

Attendance of teachers and students will be monitored and applauded in various ways.

Ensure implementation of strong academic program based on Balanced Literacy Components and CCSS.

Provide parent activities to support our instructional program and enhance student academic achievement.

Provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction to all students.

Parents will be given reasonable access to staff, to volunteer, participate and observe in their child’s class.

Hold annual parent/teacher conferences to discuss compact as it relates to their child’s achievement.

I shall strive to do the following to the best of my ability:

Come dressed in the school uniform daily.

Attend school daily, arrive on time and have the supplies necessary for learning.

Follow the Student Code of Conduct and Graves Elementary school wide rules.

Complete and turn in classroom and homework assignments.

Teacher’s Agreement
I, the undersigned, partner in the education of children at Graves commit to the following:

Provide opportunities for the school-parent compact to be discussed in relationship to individual student achievement.

Provide homework that reinforces skills taught in the classroom.

Provide a supportive and effective learning environment to enhance optimal learning.

Implement various instructional strategies and techniques to meet the needs of my students.

Have high expectations of my students and provide instruction that promotes academic growth towards TCAP and middle
school readiness.

Promote the importance of parent/teacher communication by providing communication continuously with parents through:
Frequent Progress Reports, Agenda Books, Newsletters, Flyers, Calendar s, and Telephone Calls.

Obtain professional development to gain knowledge and strategies, which will ensure student achievement.

Parent’s Agreement
I, the undersigned, partner in the education of my child commit to the following:

See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly.

Provide a quiet and well-lighted place to study, review homework and other papers regularly.

Encourage my child’s effort, be available for question and provide support.

Support and work cooperatively with the school to maintain proper discipline.

See that my child is dressed in the school uniform each day.

Read with my child, have my child read and let my child see me read daily.

Encourage my child to resolve conflicts in a positive way.

Communicate regularly with my child’s teacher to monitor his/her progress.

Provide my child with supplies and necessary materials for school.

Return report cards and attend parent/teacher conferences

Provide a save and loving environment and be a positive role model for my child.

Take my child to the library regularly and make sure they get a library card.
