Nominations are OPEN TO 16 years & older NETBALL ATHLETES
(Players are to be turning 16 in 2016)
The Rockhampton Leagues Club Capricorn Claws are calling for players who are
interested in trialling for the 2016 Claws team. A team of up to 15 players will be
selected, with the allowance to also name train-on squad members. Train-on players
may be brought into the team as replacement players when required, or if 15 players
are not originally selected, they may be added to the team at a later date. Pre-season
training will involve fitness, strength and conditioning and specialist netball training.
Players will be given home programs over the Christmas/New Year break.
Trials will be held in Rockhampton on Sunday 29 November 2015
Venue:- Emmaus College, Rockhampton
Time:- 9.00am – 12.00pm
(Registrations from 8.30am)
Please note:- There will be a Pre-Claws Camp on Saturday 28 November 2015
Time:- 9.30am – 4.00pm.

2016 Competition Dates*
Dates are yet to be confirmed and will be on the Claws website as soon as dates are available. Competition
is expected to commence January 2016 with Finals expected in May – held in Brisbane.
The season is expected to consist of matches in Brisbane and major regional centres on a
weekly/fortnightly basis including Rockhampton.
The Capricorn Claws play in the Mission Queensland State Netball League competition against the other
eleven regions in Queensland. For more information visit the Netball Queensland website

Costs to Players
TRIAL FEE $25.00 (Inc GST)
Trial Fee of $25.00 is payable to the Capricorn Region – bank account details are provided below.
Please use your surname as the identifier if paying by direct debit. Payment can be made on the day or
by direct deposit. Players are not eligible to trial unless fee has been paid prior to trials.
If players are unable to attend the trials, they are to forward this application together with a covering
letter explaining why they could not attend trials, a summary of their playing history and achievements,
their stats (height, uniform measurements) and any references from past or current coaches as well as
paying the trial fee. Please contact the Capricorn Claws Coach for more information. Please be aware
that submission of a letter requesting consideration for squad selection is not an automatic selection. All
submissions will be considered in conjunction with the selection trials.
Upon selection (within 7 days), players will pay the first instalment of $50.00 this includes train-on
players for pre-season training. A further $225.00 will be payable in early January for the competition
fees. If there are any additional costs, they will be advised throughout the season.
