Young 5’s Art with Mrs. DeGroot
We have been learning basic art room procedures, practicing fine motor skills by learning proper
tool usage and have covered the following art concepts: line and pattern, textures, colors, shapes;
including practicing these skills: drawing, coloring, painting, cutting, folding, tearing, gluing,
tracing, and writing and fostering imagination with the following art projects:
Crayon, glitter, and cotton ball “clouds”
Mondrian “turtles” with markers
“Waves in the ocean” manipulative with yarn
Pipe cleaner and button “bling-bling” bracelet
Swimming “whirligig” designs
Pumpkin patch fall collage
Friendly spider in a web
Harvest corn drawing
Clay snail
