period and the LCSD standard of a 1.00 GPA minimum.
The eligibility standard is the same to make sure all Lakewood students are held to the same level of academic accountability. This will also make it easier for a
club sport participant transition to a varsity level sport. The OHSAA 5 credit minimum is in line with a student making satisfactory progress to graduate in 4
years or 8 semesters. The goal is to prepare club sports to be able to make an easy transition to a varsity sport when/if it becomes an OHSAA sponsored sport.
While also making sure that our club sport participants understand the importance of academics and being a student athlete. If the club sport is recognized and
becomes a fully sponsored sport with the OHSAA, it will be automatically recognized by the school board.
