Description
Customer Profile
Onshore Energy
We provide material damage and business interruption coverage
to the oil refining, gas and hydrocarbon processing industries
around the world. This technically complicated class of business
can only be underwritten properly by experienced underwriters like
the team we have at Navigators. Our insurance offerings include
coverage for physical loss or damage to refineries and process
plants in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, with coverage
for principal perils including fire, explosion, machinery breakdown
and, in some cases, natural perils such as earthquakes and/or
flooding. Often included in the coverage too is business
interruption including contingent business interruption.
Owners and investors in
refineries, gas processing,
and other hydrocarbon
processing industries,
typically those with midsized asset schedules
Offshore Energy
Industry understanding is at the core of delivering the best possible
coverage in this complicated technical class. We offer a range of
Offshore Energy policies to protect the exploration and production
activities of the oil and gas industries as well as against
construction risks. Our underwriting is based on technical knowhow to best cover your business in the case of an incident. Policies
can cover physical damage to fixed and mobile rigs, land rigs and
associated equipment and pipelines plus the risks encountered
during the drilling and production phases of wells (both on and
offshore) and any subsequent re-drill required, along with any
consequential seepage and pollution from these incidents.
Business interruption is also frequently covered by these package
policies. Offshore wind turbines may also be underwritten,
including construction projects.
Small to very large
companies involved in the
exploration and production
of hydrocarbons in all areas
of the world, both offshore &
onshore, and those
investing in windfarms
Construction
We offer policies that cover material damage and, where
appropriate, delay in start-up (Dsu) for the duration of long- term
(typically up to 48 months) construction projects for the multi-party
interests in the building of oil, gas, power generation and other
heavy industrial plants and manufacturing industries.
Public and private sector
investors, owners, coventurers and financiers
(where applicable) of mid to
large-scale projects; also
insured are contractors and
their subcontractors
engaged to perform the
construction works
These can be challenging risks and policies can also provide for a
further fixed maintenance period (typically 12 or 24 months) and
primary public liability is often included in the cover (non-u.s.).
Operational
Engineering
We insure electricity power stations in their various forms, ranging
from conventional thermal generation units, combined- cycled
stations, to those investing in sources of renewable energy (hydro,
wind and solar). Technical experience is paramount in
This industry in order to underwrite these risks successfully. We
insure on an “all risks” basis for 12 months, covering principal
insured perils including fire, explosion, machinery breakdown and,
in some cases, natural perils such as earthquakes and/or flooding.
Business interruption or extra expense cover may also be
provided in conjunction with material damage losses.
Owners of and investors in
coal-fired power stations, gasfired power stations (often in
combined cycle), hydroelectrical plants (both run-ofthe-river and dammed
reservoirs), nuclear power
plants and renewable energy
like wind turbines and solar
panels
