Modules
12 web-based lessons accessed through the Synergy ITC website. Modules are completed with a
partner over 7 class days and have multiple graded components. Students will maintain a portfolio
which details how a grade is determined.

5 integrated stages designed around student exploration. Each stage increases in complexity and
focuses on the process, investigation, and critical thinking skills necessary to excel in the sciences.
For each stage a journal will be completed. This journal, along with the provided rubric for each
stage, will determine a student’s grade.
Independent Lessons
There will be several lessons developed by the instructor during each quarter. Grades will be
determined through daily assignments, quizzes and other forms of assessment.

Attendance
Attendance in this course is crucial to student success since many of the modules and blended
activities will be difficult to make up outside of normal class time. Please only miss when absolutely
necessary, and work diligently to get caught up quickly. Specific time frames will be determined as
appropriate for each situation.
Extra Help
I am available for extra help or for making up lab work each morning from 7:10 – 7:30 AM. Other
times may be arranged by the student if necessary.
