Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government organization.
Based on area appraisal, expressed need of the local community and identification of livelihood
generation and women empowerment issues in rural Bihar, AKRSP(I) has designed and rolled out
appropriate interventions to focus on Goat Rearing liked with Self Help Groups.
To provide impetus to its Goat Rearing initiatives-Project MESHA, AKRSP(I) is seeking a committed
and Technical Personnel having experience in Animal Farming/ Goat Rearing/Livestock, and a
passion to work in rural Bihar.
Designation: PS (Technical/Veterinary Services)
Location: Mushari, Bochaha, Sakra and Muraul blocks (District Muzaffarpur)
Reporting Officer: Block Manager & Team Leader-Mesha Project
Contract Duration: 3 Years (contract renewal yearly).
Salary Range: 30k to 33k
Job Role:
 Creating a cadre of grass root women animal health workers (pashu sakhi) through intensive
training and hand holding on preventive health care of goats
 Regular monitoring of progress of Pashu Sakhis created under the project to make them
technically and financially viable over the period of time
 Providing technical inputs on vaccinations, de-worming, disease mapping, breeding, feeding
and housing of goats
 Training of grass root workers on various technical aspects of goat rearing practices for
raising income from goat rearing
 Creating sustainable value chain of vaccines and de-wormers
 Liaison with veterinary department for technical inputs
 Liaison with medicine suppliers
 Coordinating with other technical partners of the project
Qualification: Post-graduation with specialization in veterinary sciences or related field. If
candidates do not have education qualification in veterinary sciences but have substantial
experience of working in livestock sector, such candidates can also be considered.

Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working in small ruminants sector.
