Our Infrastructure & Environment (I&E) Division creates solutions in Industrial Infrastructure,
Transportation, Marine, Mining, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Waste Management,
Environmental Management, Contaminated Sites and Water Resources.

The WorleyParsons BC Business Unit is actively growing a dynamic Geotechnical
Engineering group to work with our existing engineering staff on projects located in
Vancouver, Western and Arctic Canada and globally. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer
position is a full time role located in our Burnaby office.

global, world-class engineering firm. As our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging
role, your responsibilities will consist of the following tasks:

Plan and oversee the execution of onshore and nearshore geotechnical site
investigations (including site reconnaissance, drilling and coring) and analysis;

Provide geotechnical engineering recommendations regarding (but not limited to) soil
and rock engineering parameters, deep and shallow foundations, soil liquefaction
assessments, seismic analysis, frost issues, soil dynamic parameters and site
development;

Direction/Supervision of junior and intermediate staff to meet project deliverables;

Report and proposal writing;

Assistance with Business Development;

Tender package preparation;

Site inspection/supervision; and

Construction QA/QC inspections.
In addition to your technical expertise and competencies, you are enthusiastic, resourceful,
organized, and detail oriented. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the
ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues. You
are comfortable with responsibility, eager to tackle new challenges and to learn and grow.
Minimum Qualifications

Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC;

8+ years of professional experience in industries such as marine, infrastructure and
industrial developments;

Experience dealing with seismic issues and liquefaction;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;

A strong theoretical background in geotechnical engineering and field experience; and,

Proficiency with common geotechnical software (e.g. GeoStudio™, Plaxis™ and
gINT®).
In addition to the above:

Experience with the local Vancouver and British Columbia geotechnical conditions
would be considered an asset;

Experience in nearshore/offshore geotechnics would be considered an asset; and,

A post-graduate degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering would be considered
an asset.
