XXXXXder kits for staff
XXXXXal eReaders were purchased in 2010 to give all staff an opportunity to try the devices in
library buildings. There are four kits with five eReaders each (not all are compatible with library
materials). The eReaders are an Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, Apple iPad, Sony Reader
and Borders Kobo. The Help Desk will be working with managers on the distribution to libraries.
eReaders are not to be shared with customers or to be removed from library property and they will
not be configured to share with the public. See details.
XXXXing feedback on diversity
Instead of continuing with a biennial survey to each library (completed by library mangers with input
from staff), the Diversity Steering Committee would like feedback from all staff on diversity-related
work topics. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey (should take approximately 5
minutes) by Feb. 10. It will help the committee plan future diversity training and evaluate its
activities in the coming year.
XXXXX share great work
XXXXXCL staff presented at conferences in 2010. They will be presenting short (3-6 minutes)
sessions, followed by poster sessions, at “Encore!” on Jan. 27, 9-11 a.m. at Ridgedale. Sign up via
APEX to hear about their great work!

45 Minutes; Today’s Federal Libraries are Free, Dedicated and Limitless; Mentoring: Library
