Hurricane Sandy Activity Reflection
"You can't always control what happens to you, but you can always
choose how you want to deal with it."
Ariel Creamer
1) Based on the article you read and the video you watched, describe how Ariel
Creamer , a 14 year old resident from Rockaway, New York , carried out this
message. ( what happened and what did she do about it? )
A Silver Lining
One of Ariel's messages to us through the article and the video, was the
importance of finding a silver lining .
a .Explain what is meant by a silver lining?
b. From the articles we read and the images we viewed in the videos, describe
the silver linings that resulted in the towns devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Your Personal Silver Lining
Through the reading and the videos, we learned that it was through the help of
many organizations that provided the funding, the manpower and the emotional
support that were needed to rebuild stronger structures , stronger communities
and stronger people.
