 Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic 2013
o JMU vs. Hampton and VCU vs. VTech

1. President, Philip Wong
 Diploma Issue
-Deans, Dr. Retchin, students fully support “Legacy Diploma”
-There are parties who want to remove “MCV” from diploma or charge
fee for “Legacy Diploma”
-HOWEVER, it’s only talk and nothing has been discussed
-Will remain “opt in” until further notice
-Be aware of this issue if there is any further escalation
-Students need to be a unified voice
2. VP of Social Affairs, Emerald Nguyen and Arvachi Patel
 Winter Ball @ The Omni Richmond- February 1, 2014
-First round of tickets post Thanksgiving Break
-$25 per ticket beginning Dec. 12
-Limit 2 tickets per student
-Price increases to $30 per ticket beginning Jan. 17
-Limit may increase if needed
-Capacity is 1,400 students AND faculty
-Cash bar – ATMs nearby (Wells Fargo and Bank of America)
-Don’t drink and drive
-Rooms at the Omni will be $69 each
-Looking for individuals to assist in film/video for marketing Winter

-Section III: Procedures for University Sponsored Events
Associated with Alcohol
-University is NOT responsible if not sponsor
-Individuals/Organizations will be responsible for
intoxicated individuals
-University sponsored events require “Alcohol
Authorization Agreement” form to be submitted
-Off campus events must follow same laws
-New code of conduct to be released in January 2014
