Reef Catchments Public Fund
Funding guidelines and application form
The Reef Catchments Public Fund was established in
2008 to enhance the capacity of community groups
to become involved in natural resource management
within the Mackay Whitsunday region.
The Public Fund aims to empower our regional
community to develop natural resource management
initiatives that are consistent with the Reef
Catchments Mackay Whitsunday Isaac Natural
Resource Management Plan.
To be eligible, projects need to align with the key goals
of the Reef Catchments Strategic Plan. These are:
•
Sustainable use of the region’s natural resource
assets;
•
Improved community knowledge and interaction in
natural resource management; and
•
Record and report on the natural resource
condition.
Community interest groups, schools and other not-forprofit organisations can apply for grants up to $2,500
to implement environmental projects.
Funding is also provided on a 50/50 contribution basis
between the Public Fund and the applicant.
By working together, we can achieve our vision
of enhanced natural resources for a sustainable
community.
