Dear Clubs and Organizations,
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is pleased to announce the beginning of our Homecoming 2015
process! Our Major Events Co-Chairs, Hayley Kurisu and Victoria Perez, along with the entire CAB
team have selected this year’s Homecoming theme: “The Wizarding World of La Verne.”
The students of Hogwarts are coming back the week of October 5-10th! This week will consist of a variety of
activities and events each day based around the Harry Potter theme: “The Wizarding World of La Verne.” CAB
is beginning the framework of Homecoming Week and needs your support by actively participating in the
process and joining in on all the fun. This packet has everything your club or organization needs to actively
participate.

If your club or organization would like to host a booth for the Homecoming Street Fair, please do so by
submitting the form below to CAB by 12pm on Friday, September 25th.
$50 TO THE FIRST 5 CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS WHO SUBMIT THIS FORM!
THEME: Hogwarts Houses- Choose a Hogwarts House of your choice (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff,
Ravenclaw, Slytherin) to portray through your booth. (MUST be appropriate based for family-friendly
street fair). Your game, philanthropy event, etc. Contact Hayley Kurisu or Victoria Perez if you have
questions – x4422.
Guidelines & Important Details for Homecoming Street Fair
● Set up will start no earlier than 8:15 am (No exceptions) – BOOTH READY BY 9:45AM!
● A representative from your club or organization must be present at your booth at all times and
are required to stay at your booth until 12:45pm.
● NO SELLING. Absolutely no selling of food, goods, etc. at your booth. Give-a-ways and free
promo items are permitted and encouraged.
● No electricity will be provided. We encourage you to use batteries if that is an option for your
needs (Example: Battery operated radio, music, laptop, etc.
Failure to comply with the rules stated above or if you reserve a booth but are a NO SHOW
on the day of the Homecoming Street Fair will result in a $75 fee that will be deducted from
your club account.
CANCELLATION:
***If you need to cancel your booth, you must do so 48 hrs in advance (Thurs. 10/8 by 10am)***

ENSURE THAT YOUR THEME IS NOT ALREADY SELECTED

Homecoming Nomination SPECIFICATIONS
NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: Friday, September 25th by 12pm
When selecting your nomination for Homecoming King & Queen, please follow these guidelines:
Each club/organization can nominate one graduating female senior and one graduating male senior.

Nominee MUST be a candidate for graduation by Spring 2016.

Nominee MUST have at least a 2.50 GPA for Spring 2015 semester and Cumulative (GPA will
be verified by the Office of Student Life).

Nominee should be actively involved in the La Verne community.

Nominee should be actively involved in various leadership programs on campus.

Nominee should demonstrate La Verne spirit and pride. If the nominee is a member of a Greek
Organization, nominee should represent Greek unity.

Nominee should be able to attend most of the Monday – Friday Homecoming 2015 events.

Nominee MUST attend Illuminations on Monday, October 5th at 9:30pm.

Nominee MUST attend the Homecoming Half Time Show and Street Fair on Saturday, October
10th.


Homecoming Street Fair
Parade Participation
This year commemorates the FIFTH annual Homecoming Street Fair float parade. The Office of Student Life
encourages all clubs and organizations to participate in the float competition. Your float will be part of the Homecoming
Street Fair. Parade route: is the street fair – 2nd Street to C Street, and ends at the corner of 3rd & C St. Parade will begin at
approximately 12:30pm with line up beginning at approximately 12:15pm.

Participation in the float parade must meet the criteria listed below to be eligible. Failure to meet these
regulations will disqualify your float in the competition.
Rules and Regulations
 Must be an officially recognized club to participate.
 Participation in club booth is REQUIRED for participation in parade float.
 Wagon OR mobile device and entire float width must be no larger than 36”x18” inches. Wagon does not
necessarily need to be a wagon; however it must be mobile & able to move down the parade without
collapsing, or falling apart. IMPORTANT: YOUR FLOAT DÉCOR AND ASSEMBLY MUST STAY
WITHIN THE 36” X 18” DIMENSIONS. Please keep this in mind when building your float to ensure
you are not disqualified.
 No Limitations on height.
 Float Themes are limited to the following selections:
a. Your club booth theme
b. La Verne Leopards Spirit
 Parade float representatives are limited to two members. (This means only two members are permitted to
move the float down the parade route.)
 Your float must be ready and submitted to parade line by 9:30am SHARP, Saturday, October 10th EAST END OF CAMPUS CENTER - OUTSIDE. If your float is submitted later than 9:30am,
your float will not be eligible for entry in the contest. (No exceptions: 9:31am is late).
The results of the winner will be announced during the Half-time show at the football game.
