Judging C.V
I am currently approved on the judging C list, to Judge 3 classes of breed (GSD) and pastoral
classes and have so far done so at 3 open shows. Drachenberg is our affix and we are a small
hobby kennel based in North West Leicestershire. Having grown up around German shepherd
dogs we would have no other breed. All our dogs are health checked in accordance to The Kennel
Club health screening programmes and we adhere to the GSD Breed Councils Breeder charter.
Over the years we have taken part in agility and obedience and now in schutzhund/IPO and
currently Working Trials. I am currently studying Criminology and Social Policy BSc as a mature
student at Loughborough University, in the hope to become a Solicitor or work for the CPS. I am
always looking to gain experience in showing, judging and stewarding and welcome all advice to
further my career in the dog world.
Personal statement
As a supporter of the Kennel Club Fit for Function; Fit for Life policies, I keep abreast of
developments in canine health and welfare and I strongly favour the ethos that every dog should
be bred to be fit enough to enjoy its life to the full and conformation of all dogs should be such that
they would be capable of fulfilling the function for which the breed was originally developed –
whether or not that original function still exists. I place major emphasis on the importance of
familiarising with the function which was originally developed for any breed I am invited to judge, In
particular, understanding the effect of the requirements of this function on the breed’s
conformation and that a judges’ decision strongly influences the development of a breed (winners
at shows will be bred from to produce future generations of show dogs and as, if not more
importantly, pets.) I do not encourage the development of exaggerations that would make dogs
unsuitable for their original function or that could affect their wellbeing.
I have a strong sense of justice and wish to make an effective contribution to the dog world
through my commitment to ethical and responsible breeding. I have a comprehensive knowledge
of competition procedures and etiquette and believe is my responsibility to keep abreast and up to
date with developments in such matters. I am familiar with the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations
and the Guide for Judges as amended from time to time. I keep up to date with all relevant
Regulations governing the Breed and judging. I am always willing to expand my knowledge and I
enjoy attending seminars and have read a vast collection of books documenting genetics, health
testing, movement of various breeds and breed handbooks dating back to the 1950's.
I am a firm believer that one should act at all times with honesty and integrity and impartiality. I am
a highly motivated and organised individual who can offer an honest & unbiased opinion in the
judging arena. I have considerable experience of working in managerial office and financial
settings, practical event organisation experience and excellent interpersonal skills. I have a valid
UK divers licence and am flexible on where I am invited to judge regards travel. I have excellent
communication skills and am confident in dealing with people at all levels without prejudice, gained
through many years of Public Sector Corporate training and am also affluent in writing judging
critiques.

History
Having grown up with a fantastic long coat German shepherd as my faithful companion and my
Grandmother also having a beautiful standard coat shepherd I fell in love with the breeds'
versatility, intelligence and loyalty at a young age. As soon as I could I purchased my very first
shepherd after doing a lot of research on kennels and breed history in June 2005. Jozarer Saffron
or Sadie as she's known at home is a brilliant bitch who I have learned the ropes with in the GSD
world and show environment. Sadie is from Mascani breeding, her sire being Mascani Franko out
of the successful an excellent foundation to build on. Sadie gained her stud book number in
September 2007 under judge Beryl Budd at the City of Birmingham Championship show gaining
second in Open bitch. Sadie has also been placed 4th in a very large class at Crufts . Sadie has
been highly placed by all round judges as well as breed specialists. We decided to attend a local
fun show where Sadie won her first red rosette in minor puppy bitch and we got bitten by the show
bug, we also fell in love with the white shepherds at the show and not long after bought in a lovely
white longcoat puppy sired by a Bridgeview male who had excellent character and temperament.
Phoenix Kirby or Flea is an amazing male and been rally champion at WALCSS shows many
times and remains an excellent companion. Taking to showing with lifelong friend Stephen Beck of
Domoviyr GSD and leaving the handling to my then 11 year old younger sister Jessica Hardy. We
joined Leicestershire GSD club in late 2005 and were active members until its sad closure in 2010
after a announcing it at their last open show.

After a while attending club, a certain male took my eye. Nikonis Colin was the most outstanding
male I had seen in the flesh and after seeing his son, Nikonis Orlando at training and mentioning
to Nikki Farley how much I'd taken to him, we finally purchased Ollie in 2006. We have had so
much fun and learned so much over the years with with both Sadie and Ollie, winning awards at
the Leicestershire club. Ollie gained his stud book number in at Border Union on 14th June 2008
under Judge Pat Roe. Ollie has also been placed 5th in a very large class in Limit at Crufts 2008
under Judge Terry Hannan. Loving the breeding of Nikonis we also purchased Nikonis Silka, a
beautiful longcoat bitch out of Arko Butjenterland who has been WALCSS rally champion many
times. Enjoying the fun at the WALCSS shows we purchased 2 males from the Tyeshann kennels.
Till and Towzer. Till who is a standard coat and Towzer, or Dozer as he's affectionately known
who is a long coat out of Vonmeister Aqua at Tyeshann and Kai Vom Easterlager both were very
promising youngsters. Again we had great success with both males at KC championship and open
shows with Till as well as WALCSS shows with Dozer until at a show Brigid Newlands discovered
that Till unfortunately had a missing P2 tooth which ended his show career.
With this disappointment we decided to take on another standard coat show male and in late 2007
went on to purchase Nikonis Yasko, who is from the mating of Nikonis Karri to Champion Nikonis
Yago. Karri in turn was a daughter of Nikonis Rena and Rocky vom Haus Tepferd. Yasko was VV1
(GB) at the British Sieger Event 2008 under Judge Herr Günther Müller from the famous von
Overledingerland kennels. Yasko's sire Ch Nikonis Yago was Vice Sieger at the same show Ollie's
Sire Colin pipping him to the post. Yasko has had huge success in the show ring and went on to
gain his first reserve CC at Bolton & District Champ show on 04 April 2009 after winning his Junior
class under Judge Bill Patterson of Irish Kennel Ardra, just losing out to the famous Champion Ice
Vom Steinhauerberg.
After meeting my now husband Rob we applied for our affix Drachenberg and were granted it in
early 2009. Drachenberg was our first choice, meaning dragon mountain in German and being
after our favourite tattooist Kat Von D (Drachenberg) After purchasing German import Dana Vom
Steffen Haus, out of two well-known parents Holly Maleiche and Orbit Vom Huhnegrab, from the
Antilli kneels in 2009 we bred our first litter from Dana with the Antilli male Aldo in December 2009.
Our Christmas Eve litter. We have had good results from this litter with Aura whom we kept and
also with Albus and Acksel in the show ring. Our second litter came very shortly after this litter in
March 2010 with Sadie and the fantastic male from the Vonmeister kennels, Vonmeister
Dynamite, Sully. Making the decision not to keep a male from this litter was very hard and so all
went to pet homes. Keeping in contact with all of our owners this litter includes successful agility,
obedience and working farm dogs as well as amazing companions. In 2011 we had our third litter.
Mating our first bred female Aura with import Kalli Von Der Forstkammer. 2 of this litter have done
well in the show ring at KC and WUSV Regional shows.
Our second import purchase Helios Aus Famke’s Zauberwald, aka Suni, arrived in the UK on the
15th September 2012, at just under 6 months of age. Suni is from the Zauberwald kennels in
Holland owned by Wilma Jonkman and Olav Ihrens and he has been trained in Holland by Benny
Pley. Suni has a fantastic pedigree with his Sire being the Italian VA Fulz Di Zenevredo whose
Sire in turn is the highly successful Furbo Degli Achei and Helios Grandsire is the world renowned
Quenn Loher Wegg. Suni’s Dam is Goldy Aus Famke’s Zauberwald who has been hugely
successful around the show ring in Europe and the UK. Suni has recently achieved SG2 at
Midlands Regional show and has passed his AD. Suni and Dana were the parents of our D litter,
born on September 13th 2013. This was a super quality litter, all attributes of both parents reflected
in these puppies. Suni is currently in training for his IPO 1 qualification and we are looking to begin
Working Trials with him also.
