Call for Papers Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (http://www.cc-pe.net/) Special Issue on “social networks analysis and its application” Theme and Scope Nowadays, various social applications such as blogs, email, instant messaging, social networking (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn etc.), wikis, and social bookmarking have been widely popularized by providing digital platforms for social interaction. Today’s online social network or mobile social network pervade all aspects of our daily lives, and contain vast amount of data. From this vast amount of data we are able to extract and analyze the social networks of new-era that can be consist of millions of nodes and connections. Meanwhile, various critical issues such as clustering & evolution mining of social networks, modeling and understanding of social behaviors via computational means, information spread and modeling, social influence analysis, social recommendations, etc. provide significant challenges. Therefore, this special issue is devoted to analysis of these large-scale social structures and what is more important to identify the areas where social network analysis can be applied and provide the knowledge that is not accessible for other types of analysis. The scope of this special issue includes, but not limiting to: Communities detection and analysis in large scale online social networks Role detection and evolution in social networks Content evolution and Information diffusion in mobile/online social networks Mining dynamics and evolution patterns of social networks Mining of user behavior patterns in social networks Visualization approaches for large-scale dynamic networks Social influence analysis in large scale social networks Adoption of new services on social network platforms Data models for social networks and social media Temporal analysis on social networks topologies Recommender systems – Collaborative filtering and personalization Information / opinion / knowledge spread and modeling Management of online/mobile social network data Streaming algorithms for social media data Information propagation and assimilation in social networks Data mining and machine learning in social networks Privacy and security in social networks Detection, analysis, prevention of spam, phishing, and misbehavior in social networks Novel social applications and systems Instructions for Manuscripts The submitted papers must be original and must not be under consideration in any other venue.
